Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Gunners eyeing THREE striker options?

PLUS: Jordan Lukaku, brother of Everton striker Romelu, believes his style of play would suit the Premier League - and has admitted to being an Arsenal fan. Arsenal could move for Batshuayi Arsenal are reportedly considering making a bid for Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi after Danny Welbeck was ruled out for nine months. The Daily Star say Arsenal have been watching the Belgian closely this season and will enquire as to his availability this summer. Batshuayi, 22, has scored 21 times in 48 appearances this season but L'OM endured a torrid campaign as a whole, finishing 13th in the table. Lukaku "a fan of Arsenal" Speaking to The Set Pieces, Lukaku said: “Do I see myself as a Premier League-bound? “I don’t know, but it’s a league that would suit me. I have always been a fan of Arsenal, but I am mad about every Premier League club as long as the club doesn’t have to fight against relegation.” The 21-year-old currently plays for Oostende in the Belgian Pro League. Arsenal could turn to Morata Danny Welbeck's devastating injury blow could force Arsenal to step up their pursuit of a new striker, writes MirrorFootball's John Cross. The England man has undergone surgery on his right knee after suffering a serious cartilage injury in Arsenal’s draw at Manchester City on Sunday. The heartbreaking news comes on top of Welbeck missing 10 months with an injury to his other knee and he had only just returned in February. It will also push the Gunners into the market this summer with Juventus striker Alvaro Morata their top target. Arsenal have also looked at Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi but if Morata - Real Madrid have a buy-back option which may push through the deal - becomes available then he will be their number one. Gunners eye Guirassy Arsene Wenger is eyeing a move for little-known French striker Sehrou Guirassy, writes MirrorFootball's John Cross. Arsenal boss Wenger has been alerted to the 20-year-old Lille starlet, who has impressed while on loan at French second division club Auxerre. In much the way the Gunners signed Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre three years ago at the same age, Guirassy is seen as one for the future. Sanogo has started just two Premier League games and scored just a single goal for Arsenal, while being sent on loan to Crystal palace, Charlton and Dutch side Ajax.

                                                     LITHIUM- ION   CELL

Li-ion cell is a rechargeable battery in which Li-ionoves between anode and cathode during charging and discharging. It is more popular than other batteries because of the various characteristics of lithium.Li has higher negative value for reduction potential and a lower atomic mass than any other metal.Only 6.94 g of Li is needed to provide one mole of electrons.
In typical litium ion  cell ,the positive electrode is made by using a crystalline mixed oxide Li2O.Co2O3 or LiCoO2.The crystal contains both Li+ ion and Co3+ ion occupying the voids of the oxide array.Such crystals are usually synthesised by hydrolysis of the respective salt under hydrothermal condition. The negative terminal is made of graphite .The electrolyte is a solution of Li salt ,in an organic solvent such as ether or a solid phase polymer electrolyte which can transport Li+ ion.
   Charging:-
During charging the cell act as an electrolytic cell, the electrical energy is                            converted into chemical energy.
             At Anode (+) :
Some Li + ions get removed from the crystal lattice .and in the respective                             lattice site Co3+ ion get oxidized to Co4+ and electrical neutrality is                                         maintained in the lattice.
             At Cathode (-) :
The Li ion produced at the Anode get migrated through the electrolyte and                        get reduced to lithium atom at the graphite electrode.Li atoms are inserted                         between the layers of carbon atoms. This so called lithiated graphite                                     , containing no Li metal as such.
   Discharging
During discharging ,the cell acts as electro chemical cell, the chemical energy is                  converted to electrical energy. When the cell act as electrochemical cell ,LiCoO2                  act as Cathode ,while the graphite act as anode.
Lithium ion cell is based on LiCoO2 has an EMF of 3.7 V.The cell is having high energy to weight ratio. They are used in cell phones, laptop computers, digital camera etc.The cell is not suitable for making large size of battery because of possibility of explosion.
Another type of Li-ion cell has been developed based on active materials like LiFePO4. The cell is having a potential of 3.3 v.The cell is suitable for making large size batteries suitable for automobile application.

Amsterdam’s Fab City: urban solutions for tomorrow

Imagining tomorrow’s sustainable, self-sufficient city: that is the goal of Fab City, a global project which started in Barcelona two years ago and is currently being tested in Amsterdam. Located at the head of Java Island in the city’s Eastern Harbour District, it includes 50 innovative pavilions, where more than 400 students, professionals, artists and creatives are working on finding solutions to urban issues. Porta Palace is a tiny home on wheels recently completed by a Dutch art and design collective. Fixed on a trailer, this 18 square metre mobile home is built with eco-friendly materials. It is timber-framed and covered with a steel roof, and contains a small living area with a kitchen, a toilet, a shower, and a double bed located over the coffee table. “People are really surprised that there is so much space in such a small house,” says Woonpioners project manager Jelte Glas. “Also, (they are surprised) because we use a lot of glass and it is open and looks so open and interacts really with the environment.” The Porta Palace will set you back approximately 35,000 euros. Wikkelhouse is a module concept house mostly built out of cardboard. Different modules are created which can then be assembled according to the home-owners wishes and needs. Each module is made by gluing 24 layers of cardboard around a rotating house-shaped mould, using eco-friendly glue. The structure is then covered with wood frames to protect it from physical impact and UV rays from the sun. Its developers say the result is a robust sandwich structure with optimal insulation qualities. “This is already a little house that I could live in,” says Oep Schilling, the founder of Fiction Factory, the company behind Wikkelhouse, holding up one module. “But now I want a kitchen, and I want a toilet. So we make this element where it’s all in it: I put my kitchen in it, and I put one behind it (the original module), I put another one behind it and now I have a bedroom. So this is already like a house, which is built within a week.” The price per module is about 3,500 euros. If you add concrete foundations, additional construction elements, a pre-fabricated kitchen, toilet and bathroom, the end price of a home comes to around 70,000 euros. And what about equipping your sustainable home with equally sustainable 3D printed elements? That’s what Dutch company MX3D proposes. It has developed a six-axis industrial robot arm with an advanced welding machine controlled by software. The printer proposes a wide variety of objects made of metal or resin, without the need for support structures. The company’s founder says his 3D technology has a significant advantage over ordinary 3D printers, and wants to prove it by printing a pedestrian bridge made of steel in the centre of Amsterdam. “Normal 3D printers have to operate in a building volume like this (holds hands apart) and we can go meters big. So building a bridge is really a leap from where we are now with the current technique. This is our true innovation,” says Gijs van der Velden, the founder of MX3D. Amsterdam’s Fab City campus is open to the public until June 26.

Girl to be fitted with 3D printed ear in Australia

Two-year old Maia was born with only one ear due to a congenital deformity called microtia, and currently wears a headband that transmits sound to her brain using her skull as a bone conductor. But new 3D technology being developed at Queensland University of Technology in Australia means Maia could soon receive a prosthetic ear that would cost less than a pair of glasses. “She’s full of confidence. She’s full of love and life and I don’t want to take that away from her. It’s obviously going to be heartbreaking but the fact we can actually say no it’s okay, you will have an ear,” says Maia’s mother Chloe. This promising technology is far less expensive than common prosthetic solutions. The whole procedure could cost as little as two hundred dollars per child. If successful, its inventors hope to eventually use it to print other body parts. “Nobody’s ever 3D printed ear prosthetics before. I think the ability to 3D print an ear prosthetic will cost the public less than a pair of glasses,” says Mia Woodruff, Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology. The project comes in two stages. The first is a short-term ‘cosmetic’ solution: a 3D prosthetic ear is made in medical silicone and attached magnetically or with surgical glue. The long-term stage is far more ambitious and revolves around a complex bioengineering solution. The goal is to develop a procedure for growing a 3D ear from the patient’s own cells using a special bioreactor. After a few weeks of growing, it could then be surgically implanted along with a custom bionic construction. Researchers believe that the 3D printed ears could be available within two years. Though the project is still in its infancy, Maia’s parents are hoping it could deeply change their daughter’s life.

Kiel students take Tetris to a whole new level

It is one of the most successful, and most played, video games of all time, a simple concept that has proved to be of near-universal appeal and which has grown beyond the wildest dreams of its inventor. And now Tetris is even bigger, not to say larger than life. Fans can now play the game on a 15- story building at the University of Kiel campus in northern Germany. Four students dedicated a year of their bachelor’s degrees to creating the display. Project coordinator Jonas Lutz, who initially came up with the idea, explains: “What we have done is we have this high-rise building with 392 windows. We put a light in each of the windows. They are all connected over a network and the internet to a computer that controls each light – making a 1,700 inch display. Then, when you have this display you have to decide what to do with it. We decided to start by playing Tetris, so that’s what we have done.” The LED panels are each 70 centimetres long. Each contains 144 LED lights, meaning that a total of 56,448 LED lights are used in the installation. According to the University, the games use 56.5 kilowatt-hours if played for four hours per night, at a cost of 11.25 euros. The total budget for the project, called “Project Lighthouse”, was 30,000 euros, and it was funded entirely by donations. Most of the budget went on the hardware, the LED light panels and the 196 network communication boxes that connect the lights to the software. Lutz, who is studying for a bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics, has worked unpaid for a year on the project, for five credits towards his studies. So, why did he do it? “Why? Well, mostly for fun. But I also wanted to see what me and the team can do. What have we learnt from our studies? And that is what we came up with,” he says. The resolution is not great compared to most smartphones, but it is certainly enough for Tetris. Two other games have been added; Snake and Pong, and the students are working on adding more. At the moment Lutz and his team just turn the game on for special occasions such as orientation days, university parties and when international guests come to visit.

                                                                PETROLEUM

The word petroleum is composed of two Latin words Petra means rock and oleum means oil.Petroleum is a dark brown ,thick, and viscous liquid that occurs below the earths surface. It is a naturally occurring raw material which is a complex mixture of paraffinic, olefinic, and aromatic hydrocarbons together with small amounts of organic compounds containing O,N and S.

Mining Of Petroleum:-
Petroleum is found deep below the earth crust ranging from a few hundred meters to about 2-3 km.So, it's mining is a very expensive process. The possible locations are first identified by aerial surveys and ground tests.
The oil is found floating over salt water and has a layer of natural gas on the top of it. Mining is done by drilling holes into the earths crust and pipes are inserted until the pipes reach the petroleum bearing rocks.Usually the crude oil gushes out on its own due to high internal pressure. When the gas pressure decreases, the crude oil is pumped out with help of  air lift pumps.

Refining Of Petroleum:-
The crude oil obtained is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons which is always found mixed with considerable amount of water and earth particles. So it becomes necessary to separate these hydrocarbons to make each fraction available for appropriate use. The crude oil is separated into various useful fractions by fractional distillation. This process of dividing petroleum into different useful fractions with different boiling ranges is called refining of petroleum and the plants set up for this purpose are called Oil refineries.

Petroleum Products:-

  1.  LPG
  2. Gasoline or petrol
  3. Kerosene oil
  4. Diesel oil

                                         OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode)

An organic light emitting diode is a light emitting diode in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound which emits light in response to an electric current. This layer of organic semiconductor is situated between two electrodes, at least one of these electrodes is transparent.
The emissive layer used  used in a OLED is made up of organic plastic molecules out of which the most commonly used is polyfluorene. The conducting layer is also an organic molecule and the most commonly used component is polyaniline.

To Make  An OLED:-

  1. To make an OLED light up ,we simply attack a voltage across the anode and cathode.
  2. As the electricity starts to flow ,the cathode receives electrons from the power source and the anode loses them.
  3. Now we have a situation where the added electrons are making the emissive layer negatively charged ,while the conducting layer is becoming positively charged.
  4. Positive holes are more mobile than negative electrons so they jump across the boundary from the conducting layer to the emissive layer.when a hole meets an electron ,the two things cancel out and release a brief burst of energy in the form of a quantum of light or a proton ,in other  words. This process is called recombination, and because it's happening many times a second the OLED produces continuous light for as long as the current keeps flowing.
Advantages Of OLED:-

  • The manufacture of OLED is highly economical and is more efficient than LCD and the panel screens.
  • It will be a great surprise to see displays on our clothing and fabrics. This technology  will help in carrying huge displays in our hands.
  • There is much difference in watching a HD TV to an OLED display. As the contrast ratio of OLED is very high,it can be watched from an angle about 90 degrees without any difficulty.
  • No back light is produced by this device and the power consumption is also very less.
  • OLED has a refresh rate of 100,000 Hz which is almost 9900 HZ greater than an LCD display.
  • The response time is less than 0.01 ms.LCD needs response time of 1 ms.

Mind-controlled drones show off latest in tech

Scientists have been able to detect brainwaves for more than a century, and mind-controlled technology already is helping paralyzed people move limbs or robotic prosthetics. But now the technology is becoming widely accessible. Emotiv and NeuroSky are among startups offering electroencephalogram headsets for purchase online for several hundred dollars. The models Florida racers used cost about $500 US each.
Here's how the technology delivers an abstract thought through the digital realm and into the real world: Each EEG headset is calibrated to identify the electrical activity associated with particular thoughts in each wearer's brain — recording, for example, where neurons fire when the wearer imagines pushing a chair across the floor. Programmers write code to translate these "imaginary motion" signals into commands that computers send to the drones.
Professor Juan Gilbert, whose computer science students organized the race, is inviting other universities to assemble brain-drone racing teams for 2017, pushing interest in a technology with a potential that seems limited only by the human imagination.
As our lives become increasingly reliant on internet-enabled devices, a concept known as the internet of things, Gilbert and his team want to know how mind-controlled devices can expand and change the way we play, work and live.
You might use your mind to unlock your car, or explore a virtual world, hands-free. It could be applied for real-time monitoring of our moods and states of consciousness. Researchers are studying whether they can use a big-rig driver's mind to trigger a device that will tell him when he's too tired to drive.
"One day you could wear a brain-controlled interface device like you wear a watch, to interact with things around you," Gilbert said.
So far, BCI research has largely been about helping disabled people regain freedom of movement. Recently, an Ohio man using only his thoughts was able to move his paralyzed hand thanks to a chip implanted in his brain. In Miami, doctors using BCI are helping a 19-year-old man stand on his own after losing the use of his legs in a motorcycle accident.
But as the technology moves toward wider adoption, ethical, legal and privacy questions remain unresolved.
The U.S. Defence Department — which uses drones to kill suspected militants in the Middle East from vast distances — is looking for military brain-control applications. A 2014 Defence Department grant supports the Unmanned Systems Laboratory at the University of Texas, San Antonio, where researchers have developed a system enabling a single person with no prior training to fly multiple drones simultaneously through mind control.
In this system, instead of the pilot thinking certain thoughts to move the drones, she looks at a screen with flickering signals, triggering brain activity that translates into specific movements. "It can accommodate lots of commands, much more than imaginary motion can," UT scientist Yufei Huang said.
But enthusiasts should think carefully before handing over their brainwaves for purposes that have yet to be conceived or contained, said Kit Walsh, a staff attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation with a degree in neuroscience from MIT.
"EEG readings are similar to fingerprints: Once I know what the readings look like from your brain in a certain situation," she said. "I'll be able to recognize you by that pattern again later on."

World's Tiniest Engines Could Power Microscopic Robots

Scientists have created the world's tiniest practical engines, and these light-powered machines could one day power microscopic robots small enough to enter living cells, the researchers say. As technological innovations make devices smaller and smaller, scientists are developing machines that are only the size of complex molecules — nanometers, or billionths of a meter, in scale. In comparison, the average human hair is about 100,000 nanometers wide. One of the main reasons "nanobots" remain in the realm of science fiction is that figuring out a way to make them move has been challenging. Researchers have tried using a variety of power sources and propulsion systems for nanotechnology, but these typically lack speed, strength and control. "There have been many small machines, but they operate incredibly slowly — taking many seconds or minutes to move a single arm, for instance — and with very low forces," said Jeremy Baumberg, director of the University of Cambridge's NanoPhotonics Centre and senior author of the new study. "This is why we don't have nanobots, although they are much discussed in fiction." Nanobots require powerful forces to move because the viscosity of fluids can increase dramatically on the nanoscale. "For a nanomachine floating in water, swimming is like us swimming in a pool of treacle [a blend of molasses, sugar and corn syrup] — very, very viscous — so you need very large forces to move," Baumberg told Live Science. The new engines are made of tiny particles of gold only 60 nanometers in diameter. These particles are connected to one another by a water-laden gel made of a heat-sensitive compound. When heated by a green laser to more than 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius), the gel expels water, contracting within a microsecond and forcing the gold nanoparticles into tight clusters about 400 nanometers wide. When the engine is cooled, the gel takes on water and expands, and the gold nanoparticles are strongly and quickly pushed apart, like a spring, the researchers explained.

Women!!! Not a Medicine for your MENACE!!!

KERALA!! A state that boasts India's highest literacy level and development is most sadly having 300% increase in violence against women! The issue grew crucial starting with sowmya case and ended up in the latest jisha case. Not entirely emphasising on these 2 abusements. These are just 2 among thousands!! This clearly answers to all controversies that abusement against women is not based on any parameters.Wherever she is, however she dresses,of what age she is,her caste, looks, nothing matters!!!
On specifying the most recent case of the law college student Jisha, she was a girl from a family that includes her mother and a sister. She went through many problems in her life without the care and protection of her father. But however she managed to study and was nearing her dream, to be an advocate. It was then, the tragedy struck that family.
This is a crime, not a mistake. If people have that fear of doing crime in our country, this huge increase in the level of abusemnent against women would never happen here. If you really have the heart to bring out justice for each women who had been victims to such abusements, fight until such cases vanish out from here. You have got a mother, wife, sister or a girl child..Let us make sure this will never happen to one more girl over here.Let us fight!! Not Protest!!!

Self-Driving Cars In A Fast Lane: Fiat Chrysler Chief

Detroit: Self-driving cars could hit roads within five years, the head of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said on Friday, days after the company announced an alliance with Google parent Alphabet. Chief executive Sergio Marchionne declined to disclose financial details of the partnership or a timetable for building minivans that will expand the Internet company's test fleet of autonomous vehicles. "It's not sort of 'pie-in-the-sky,' the thing is real and it's coming," Marchionne said. "People are talking about 20 years, I think we'll have it here in the next five years." Alphabet this week announced an alliance with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in a major expansion of its fleet of self-driving vehicles. The company's test fleet will be more than doubled with the addition of 100 new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans, with the companies aiming to have some on the road by the end of this year.

Captain America - civil war movie review

Captain America: Civil War review - The Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr film is as competent a montage as Marvel has been mounting lately, without breaking any new grounds.Calling a clash among the dozen or so of them ‘civil war’ is just the kind of preposterousness the Avengers claim to be disowning this time. Still, in a film that makes a half-decent effort of exploring the boundaries super-heroes must operate within, that clash is the best part in two-and-a-half hours where things blow up or come raining down. And yet, you must ask, for someone should, why are they fighting exactly? Resting on a premise only a little less flimsy than the disastrous Batman vs Superman, Civil War does talk about the collateral damage caused by super-fights and the guilt the Avengers bear for it. However, why the disagreement over whether this means that the Avengers must bind themselves to the United Nations (this argument led by Iron Man) or if that would entail giving up their autonomy (as debated by Captain America) can’t be solved without more collateral damage is never explained. Leaving you with the suspicion that pitting them against each other is the whole idea of Civil War, and the villainy, even if played by a nicely subtle Bruhl, a disposable sub-plot.Put that aside, and Civil War is as competent a montage as Marvel has been mounting lately, without breaking any new grounds. It is 1991, and Barnes (Stan) is being turned into a winter soldier. Soon he is sent off to steal a technology that makes him even more lethal than he already is. Shift to present-day Lagos, where Steve Rogers/Captain America (Evans), Sam Wilson/Falcon (Mackie), Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch (Olsen) and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Johansson) are chasing a villain in a crowded Lagos (Nigeria). Things go bad, and just as a building blows up, a guy whom he is in the process of killing tells Rogers that the whole thing is linked to his childhood buddy Bucky or Barnes. The Lagos mess returns to haunt the Avengers soon. They get a visit from a grim Secretary of State Ross (a mis-cast William Hurt), who tells them the world can’t really be expected to keep tolerating a couple of “US-based” “enhanced individuals” “invading sovereign boundaries” at will (now they say this!). Tony Stark/Iron Man (Downey Jr) willingly accepts Ross’s idea that they sign an accord submitting themselves to UN mandate, having been accosted earlier by a woman who lost a son during the Avengers mission in Sokovia. Rogers disagrees, and the Avengers are split on the matter. When things go bad, they go really bad, and this superficial divide comes to the fore in ways that are more comic than serious. While the comic tone is welcome given how much violence, without any real blood, is playing out on the screen, a touch more seriousness perhaps could have done the film some good. Still, Downey Jr is again in sublime form as a finally-ageing Stark, wrestling doubts about whether he is in the right. Evans doesn’t quite lift his role to the same level. Two actors with the minimal of screen time, new addition Tom Holland as a very young Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, steal the show in the airport intra-Avengers clash that is the money-earning sequence of this film. Giving them company is T’Challa/Black Panther (a good Chadwick Boseman), whose father died in a blast suspected to have been set off by Barnes. It’s only when they are winding up at the airport does someone point out, “This is not the real fight.” That would be million of miles away in Siberia, where Zemo (Bruhl) is biding his time. However, really, does it matter? The line most repeated in Civil War, by everyone concerned, just before they throw another punch, is, “This guy is not gonna stop.” Make it these guys.

iphone 7 will've 3.5mm headset jack after all, latest leak says...!

A leaked shot purportedly showing the iphone 7 s innards comes to contradict all the previous reports. Thats because the part shown does in fact feature the connection to the 3.5mm headset jack, even if overall it looks pretty different to what's been used for the iphone 6s.
And that in itself raises some questions about the authenticity of this leak.Needless to say then, dont take this granted just yet. Still if the leaked parts belong to iphone 7, then the rumours of the headset jacks demise have been false!!
The apple iphone 7 could be waterproof and it might support a touch home button. Its antenna line are apparently going to be redesigned for a more stream lined look. The iphone 7 and iphone 7plus are due to be outed at apple's annual fall event.

Diving Robot 'Mermaid' Lends a Hand (or 2) to Ocean Exploration In Mediterranean waters, off the coast of France, a diver recently visited the shipwreck La Lune — a vesssel in King Louis XIV's fleet — which lay untouched and unexplored on the ocean bottom since it sank in 1664. But the wreck's first nonaquatic visitor in centuries wasn't human — it was a robot. Dubbed "OceanOne," the bright orange diving robot resembles a mecha-mermaid. It measures about 5 feet (1.5 meters) in length and has a partly human form: a torso, a head — with stereoscopic vision — and articulated arms. Its lower section holds its computer "brain," a power supply, and an array of eight multidirectional thrusters. Guided by a computer scientist from a boat, using a set of joysticks, OceanOne combined artificial intelligence, sensory feedback and dexterous mechanical construction to perform delicate tasks underwater, such as retrieving a fragile artifact from the wreckage and placing it in a box so it could be brought to the surface.
